Melissa Barrett
Melissa was a member of the Criminal Justice Honor Society, Alpha Phi Sigma, at Ball State University where she graduated with degrees in both Criminal Justice and Psychology. Upon her graduation she relocated to Georgia to be closer to family and soon after began her law career at Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School.
It was not even two weeks after she began, that her husband and two children were in a horrific car accident, leaving their daughter fighting for her life. During this time, she assisted the attorneys on her daughter’s multi-million dollar personal injury lawsuit against one of the world’s largest automobile manufacturers.
Among other things, this time taught Melissa how truly important an attorney can be to their clients. An attorney does not only represent you in court, but they are someone that is by your side often during some of the most difficult times of your life. Melissa took this lesson to heart and represents her clients like she would any family member, as a zealous advocate, with the utmost care and understanding.
Melissa is a member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia, licensed to practice law for the Northern and Middle District of Georgia, Georgia Superior, State, and Magistrate Courts. Melissa practices in areas of Probate, Probate Litigation, and Civil Litigation (specializing in property and contract law).
